rice rice baby

Rice is most important crop for more than half of the world's population. Rice are produced around 633 million tons each year. But according to European Association for Bioindustries, in the next 20 years 633 million tons of rice each year won’t be enough. One of the factors causing this would be “problematic weather conditions such as flooding and drought, [which are] brought on by climate change, are putting strains on global food production.” This would definitely halt the economic growth of rice production in certain countries such as the Philippines and Brazil. Also, not enough rice would not provide for the people’s needs.

books

“The book world, which uses up more than 1.5 million metric tons of paper each year, is steadily, if not entirely, finding ways to make production greener.” “Miller [founder and director of the Green Press Initiative], says he would like to see the industry's carbon footprint (a measure of greenhouse gases produced) cut in half by making 50 percent of all book paper recycled fiber, more than triple the current level, and continued efforts to reduce paper use and energy consumption. He questions one possible solution -- releasing all books electronically.” But not all would like to read ‘electronically’ rather people would like to read it by handling it by hand. The Green Press Initiative is working with publishers on environmental issues. Now, over half of the publishers agreed to use more of recycled paper and fiber, which saves more than 500,000 trees a year.
